Back in 2014, after years of working in commercial gyms, the founder of AB Fitness saw the cracks in the system. Overcrowded workout floors. Loud music. Distractions everywhere. And very little structure or attention to the people who needed help the most — adults who were just trying to feel stronger and healthier without risking injury.
So the solution? Start small, start simple, and start with a vision.
That garage studio quickly grew. By 2018, AB Fitness opened its first official loca
tion in East Meadow at 514a East Meadow Ave. Word spread fast. Clients came not for the equipment — but for the results. The studio quickly filled, and in 2020, a second location was opened in Massapequa.
That expansion came with a challenge: just one week after signing the lease, COVID hit.
But AB Fitness adapted. Zoom sessions, long nights, and relentless commitment to the clients carried the business through the storm. In 2024, a third studio opened in Oyster Bay — and the brand’s internal mantra, “1000 Strong,” was born.
