What is AB Fitness?

AB Fitness is a small-group personal training studio with three locations in East Meadow, Massapequa, and Oyster Bay, Long Island.

For over 10 years, we’ve helped thousands of busy adults (40+) get stronger, fitter, and healthier—without spending hours in the gym.

All training takes place at our facility. We do NOT travel to homes.

Every member starts with a private conversation with one of our coaches. We talk about your goals, injury history, schedule, past workout experience, and what has made it hard to stay consistent in the past.

From there, we build a personal training plan that fits your body and your needs. When you come in for your sessions, a coach guides you through the workout, checks your form, adjusts exercises when needed, and helps you keep making progress.

You do not have to walk in and guess what to do. We take care of the plan, the coaching, and the structure.

Availability is limited because every member gets coaching, attention, and a personalized plan. We keep our sessions small so our coaches can watch your form, make adjustments, and help you train safely.

We are not trying to pack the room with as many people as possible. Our goal is to make sure each person gets the support they need.

Availability changes by location and schedule. The best next step is to request more information, and our team will let you know what openings are currently available.

At AB Fitness, we offer both 1-on-1 personal training and our signature small group program to cater to your preferences and needs. The small group option is our most popular choice for its convenience in scheduling and attractive price point. With a MAXIMUM of 6 clients to 1 personal trainer in our small group sessions, you are guaranteed ample attention and a motivating community atmosphere. We understand the importance of flexibility, we offer a variety of workout times to ensure you can always find a slot that suits your schedule. While 1-on-1 training is available, it is typically recommended for individuals facing physical limitations or severe injuries. At AB Fitness, you’ll always know what to do — no random workouts, no fluff, just a clear plan that works, providing you with the flexibility and support you deserve.

At AB Fitness, we understand that everyone has unique needs and circumstances, which is why we tailor our workouts to each individual. For example, if you wake up with neck pain but still want to get your workout in, simply inform your personal trainer about the issue. They will modify your program on the spot, ensuring you can still train effectively and safely.
​Unlike large group or cardio-based programs where modifications are not always possible, our trainers specialize in working around injuries and specific concerns. This personalized approach allows you to continue your fitness journey without interruption, even when faced with physical challenges. Our goal is to provide you with a safe, effective workout that meets your needs, no matter what.

No. AB Fitness is not an open access gym.

Every session is coached by a personal trainer. We do this because most people get better results when they have structure, coaching, and accountability.

Your coach will show you what to do, help you use proper form, make sure you are training safely, and adjust your workout when needed.

The only thing that gets you fit for life is muscle. Muscle is the organ of longevity. Muscle is the only thing that keeps you strong…not cardio. You will notice we don’t have any fancy machines or cardio equipment here. We base our workouts around the exercises that utilize the most amount of muscle at once. Your workout will be modified based on what you are capable of doing. Our coaches will never give you something to do that you cannot successfully accomplish while still pushing you to get better every session.

Yes. Many of our members were nervous before they started.

Some had not worked out in years. Some had never used weights before. Some were worried about being judged, keeping up, or not knowing what to do.

That is exactly why AB Fitness is built the way it is. You do not need to be in shape before you start. We meet you where you are and help you build from there.

Our studios are private, supportive, and beginner friendly. You will have a coach guiding you the whole time.

There’s no expectation here to compete with anyone other than yourself. Since our sessions are small everyone moves at their own pace and performs the appropriate variations of the exercise so they get the most out of the time they spend with us. We meet you right where you are currently. We will never give you an exercise that you are not ready for physically. We work with all kinds of people here at AB Fitness. 70 year old post knee replacement clients, a mom of 3 who wants to lose stomach fat and a total beginner, our personal trainers are skilled to help them all reach their own individual goals, safety and effectively. We have worked with members from 18 years old to 84 years old. And yes you will be lifting more than 5lbs!

This is what makes us special and what really makes us personal training. Unlike other fitness programs out there we can work around any fitness injury. Bad shoulder, knee or back pain? We can find solutions to help your body while strengthening up the weaker areas without pain. We have worked with people recovering from all kinds of surgeries from total knee replacements, frozen shoulders to bad backs, we fit the training to you not the other way around. Most joint pain can be resolved through strategically and intentionally strengthening the muscles and connective tissues around the joint. By increasing your muscles functional strength, you’ll be able to improve the resilience of your joints. And by losing some unwanted fat, you’ll decrease the pressure that your joints absorb through all your daily movement. When done properly with good form, strength training doesn’t get you injured. Being weak gets you injured.

I am happy to say NO! In most other workout programs there could be anywhere from 12-40 people in 1 room with ONLY one coach with a workout program that will not account for how you feel that day. There is no coaching there, no one is watching your form or modifying exercises you cant do. With us you are paying for the attention you need to get the results you are looking at. Here at AB Fitness Personal Training we believe that the coach to client ratio is very important for proper progression and results. Plus most of those workouts are centered around cardio which isnt a long term solution to health and longevity.

Yes, all of the personal trainers at AB Fitness are certified professionals. They have completed extensive education and training in areas such as exercise science, human anatomy, kinesiology, and injury prevention, and are dedicated to providing safe and effective training programs to help you reach your fitness goals. They hold certifications from reputable organizations such as ISSA, NASM, NSCA or ACSM and are required to stay updated with the current training standards and trends. Along with that all coaches must have a bachelors degree as well.

But we don’t stop there, as a part of our hiring process, we put all new trainers through a 90-day in-house training program to ensure they understand and can effectively implement our unique methods and approach. Our team is also well-rounded with some of our trainers being nutritionists, they have their degrees in nutrition. Also, our owner Anthony has over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry and he personally trains and oversees every trainer to make sure our clients receive the best guidance and training possible. We also provide weekly staff trainings and encourage our trainers to take continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in the fitness industry.

AB Fitness studios are private and intentionally small.

We are not trying to be a large gym with rows of machines and crowds of people. Our studios are built for coaching, attention, and personal training.

The smaller studio setting helps create a more comfortable environment with fewer distractions. You can focus on training, getting stronger, and following your plan.

Small Studio, Big Results.

Chances are, most fitness programs you’ve experienced relied heavily on cardio exercises. Cardio exercises are easier to coach than strength training, and they give the participants the feeling of being sweaty and exhausted … so it feels like they had a great workout. Unfortunately, doing a bunch of random exercises until you’re sweaty and exhausted isn’t training … it’s entertainment. And a dangerous form of it, at that. At AB Fitness, our focus is on getting stronger, improving your flexibility, and supporting healthy joints so we can do all the activities we love without pain as we get older.
We also prioritize education and support to ensure that you understand the reasoning behind the exercises and nutritional recommendations. This empowers you to make sustainable lifestyle changes rather than relying on quick-fix programs.

It depends on your goals, schedule, and starting point.

Most people do well training a few times per week, but the best plan is the one you can follow consistently.

During your private tour, we will talk about your goals, your schedule, and what makes the most sense for you. From there, we can recommend the best starting point.

Yes, when the workout is planned and coached properly.

A longer workout does not always mean a better workout. Many people waste time because they do not know what to do or they are doing exercises that are not right for them.

At AB Fitness, your 30-minute sessions are focused, coached, and built around the most important work for your goals. You come in, follow the plan, train with purpose, and get on with your day.

No, you don’t have to take pictures. At AB Fitness, we want you to focus on building long-term habits that lead to lasting results, not on short-term vanity metrics like the scale or measurements. Our goal is to help you get stronger, healthier, and more confident over time, so your progress is about much more than just a number or a photo.

AB Fitness offers flexible scheduling with morning and evening sessions during the week, plus Saturday morning availability.

Our sessions are by appointment only. You can use our scheduling system to book and move sessions around when needed.

We know life gets busy, so our goal is to make personal training easier to fit into your schedule.

If you are going away, let our team know ahead of time.

For shorter trips, we can usually help you adjust your schedule so you stay on track before or after you travel.

For longer trips, speak with our team in advance so we can review your options and help you plan your return.

To keep it simple, AB Fitness is about $50 per coached personal training session.

The exact option depends on your goals, your schedule, and how often you train. We are month to month, with no long-term contracts.

During your private tour, we will talk through your goals, show you the studio, and review the best option for you before you make a decision.

Our membership contracts operate on a month-to-month basis, ensuring you have the freedom to choose what works best for you without any long-term commitments. The pricing of your contract is tailored to your individual needs, considering factors such as workout frequency and the addition of nutrition coaching. While we understand the desire for immediate results, achieving lasting changes in fitness requires time and dedication. We recommend a minimum commitment of 6-12 months to fully immerse yourself in the process. Remember, your progress is a journey, and the more you adhere to your program, the more transformative and lasting the results will be.

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards and ACH direct debts as well.

This means no crowds, no distractions, and no hiding. Every session is focused on you, with your coach providing undivided attention to guide you toward your goals.
